Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineering is an international, peer-reviewed scientific journal, published quarterly in English. The journal was established in 2021 by the Rector of Kielce University of Technology, Professor Zbigniew Koruba, at the request of the Dean of the Faculty of Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineering, Professor Jakub Takosoglu.

All articles are published exclusively in electronic format and made freely available under an open access model, ensuring unrestricted dissemination of research worldwide.

Currently, Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineering is listed among English-language scientific journals evaluated by the Polish Ministry of Education and Science, with a score of 5 points (2025 evaluation). The journal is actively undergoing the formal application process for registration and indexing in the Web of Science (Emerging Sources Citation Index, ESCI) and Scopus databases.

According to applicable regulations, all articles published during the evaluation period — from January 2025 to the end of 2026 — will be retrospectively indexed in the Web of Science database upon successful completion of the evaluation process. This will include automatic integration of citation data and recalculation of citation metrics, including the Hirsch index (H-index).

Additionally, efforts are ongoing to obtain an Impact Factor for the journal, which is expected to be possible one year after achieving indexation in the Emerging Sources Citation Index, tentatively scheduled for 2027.

The editorial team is committed to maintaining the highest academic standards, fostering scientific excellence, and promoting innovative research in the fields of mechanical engineering, mechatronics, and related disciplines.
