All manuscripts submitted to Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineering undergo a rigorous single-blind peer review process. In this model, reviewers remain anonymous to the authors but have full access to the manuscript, including knowledge of the authors’ identities and institutional affiliations.

Each manuscript is initially assigned to two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. In cases where the initial reviewers’ opinions are significantly divergent or where additional expertise is required, the manuscript may be forwarded to a third or even a fourth reviewer to ensure a fair and thorough evaluation.

Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editorial team makes the final decision regarding the manuscript. Authors may receive one of the following editorial decisions: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject.

If revisions are requested, authors must address each of the reviewers’ comments systematically. A detailed response to reviewers must be provided in a separate document, and a revised manuscript (with tracked changes) must accompany the resubmission. In cases of minor revisions, the editor(s) may choose to make a final decision without further external review. However, manuscripts requiring major revisions are typically sent back to the original or new reviewers for re-evaluation.

Upon acceptance, each manuscript is subjected to a final editorial review by an assistant editor to ensure consistency with the journal’s stylistic and formatting guidelines before it proceeds to publication.
